Directions to Melfort Pier & Harbour
1. Via Stirling from Edinburgh - A84 from Stirling, joining the A85 to
Oban
2. From Perth or the East - A85 straight across to Oban
3. From Inverness & Fort William - A82 from the North to Oban
4. From Glasgow, North Route - A82 via Crianlarich, then A85 to Oban
5. From Glasgow, Coastal Route - A82 to Tarbet, then A83 via Inveraray to
Lochgilphead.
From Oban and Lochgilphead to Melfort Pier & Harbour
6. From Oban to Melfort Pier & Harbour, approximately 18 miles
Take the A816 South to Kilmelford, just after the village turn right onto the
single track Degnish road. We are well signposted, follow the signs until
our office, approx. 11/2 miles.
7. From Lochgilphead to Melfort Pier & Harbour approximately 21 miles.
Take the A816 North to Kilmelford, just before the village of Kilmelford turn
left onto the single track, Degnish Road, we are well signposted, follow the
signs to our office - approx. 11/2 miles.
When you get here
The first cedar clad building, is our office, please call in and a member of
staff will welcome and accompany you to your house and show you where
everything is and how to operate some of the equipment. For late arrivals, there is a
courtesy telephone outside the office door, your name, house and simple
directions will be displayed on the lighted office window. Your house will be open
and ready for you, your keys will be located inside your house.
En route you will be able to purchase groceries; Oban has three supermarkets;
Tesco, Co-op, and Lidl, Lochgilphead has a Co-op and Inveraray has a small
Spar.
